About us

La salle de Place aux Plantes à Ixelles, baignée de lumière, avec ses tables en bois et les étagères du comptoir d'herboristerie

A few steps from Place Fernand Cocq, an herbal counter and a kitchen share the same roof. Herbal teas, ferments, restorative drinks, workshops: it all begins with the same gesture — looking at a plant, understanding what it has to give, then passing it on.

You push the door for the scent; you linger for the table.

A meeting

Églantine and Sophie met around plants. Églantine was a herbalist; Sophie cooked. From there, hours of conversation: a root, a blend, what they might try together.

A project eventually took shape. Sophie dreamed of a warm place, somewhere you sit down and stay. Églantine wanted to pass on what the plants had taught her. Place aux Plantes was born between those two desires, and it ripened slowly, the way things ripen when no one hurries them.

Today Églantine keeps the counter. She listens, blends, adjusts: the mixture takes shape as you talk. Sophie keeps the kitchen — condiments, ferments, preparations to take away, and, for anyone who cares to try, everything needed to begin.

Since then the house has grown: Jenn in the kitchen, Irene at the counter. Four pairs of hands, and a story that is only just beginning.
